Promotions at NNDKP: 2 lawyers join the Partnership and other 20 professionals take on new senior roles

Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) announces new promotions for 2022.
•    2 lawyers enter NNDKP’s Partnership
•    4 lawyers are promoted to Counsel
•    4 lawyers are promoted to Managing Associate and 9 lawyers are named Senior Associates
•    3 tax consultants advance in their career at NNDKP Tax Advisory Services
•    10 practice areas of NNDKP (consultancy and litigation) where promotions were made, which also cover the regional offices in Timișoara and Cluj-Napoca
•    a total of 22 lawyers make a step forward within NNDKP’s hierarchy

Iurie Cojocaru (Data Protection) and Anca Diaconu (Competition, State Aid and EU law) were promoted to partnership. Following this new round of promotions, NNDKP now counts 34 partners.

Furthermore, starting this year, NNDKP has included the role of Counsel in the firm’s organizational structure. The first lawyers to be named Counsel are Alexandru Aman (Corporate/M&A and Public Procurement and PPP), Cristian Dranca (Corporate/M&A and Public Procurement and PPP), Mădălina Pancă (Corporate/M&A) and Mirela Preda (Corporate/M&A and Energy and Natural Resources).

Delia Băroianu (NNDKP Timișoara), Florina Firaru (Intellectual Property), Raluca Gabor (Corporate/M&A and Energy and Natural Resources) and Alexandra Pătrașcu (Tax) were promoted to Managing Associate. Moreover, Simona Enescu (Tax) was promoted to Tax Director.

Vlad Anghel (Corporate/M&A and Public Procurement and PPP), Mădălina Bucur (Data Protection and Environment), Alexandru Ciambur (Banking and Finance), Dariana Istrate (Intellectual Property), Claudia Lazăr (Corporate/M&A), Florentin Nanu (Dispute Resolution), Flavia Petcu (Real Estate), Elena Trișcariu (Dispute Resolution) and Andreea Vezeteu (Dispute Resolution) became Senior Associates. Furthermore, Ancuța Stroescu and Mihai Șerbu (Tax) were promoted to Senior Tax Manager.

This new round of promotions is the result of an internal evaluation process and reflects lawyers’  activity and achievements in the past years.

Iurie Cojocaru, Partner, Data Protection
Iurie has over 15 years of professional experience in the data protection field.
In his new position, he also co-heads the Data Protection practice of the firm.
Iurie specializes in the data protection field, his expertise covering processing employees’ data, building and using databases for supporting sales and marketing activities, e-privacy matters (including social networking sites, cookies consent rules and commercial communications), data sharing in mergers, acquisitions and winding-up projects, regulatory compliance (including in connection with disciplinary procedures and FCPA audits), data breach regulations, data subject rights, processing and data transfer formalities, archiving formalities (including in cases of winding-up of companies), classified information.
He assists clients in controls by the data protection authority, in internal data protection and privacy audits, and with training activities.
He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), having obtained his accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the world’s largest information privacy organization. Iurie is also a IAPP member.
His area of expertise also includes environmental law.

Anca Diaconu (Pascu), Partner, Competition, State Aid and EU Law
Anca has significant professional experience in competition, state aid and EU Law matters.
Anca is specialized and focuses her practice on competition investigations regarding cartels, abuse of dominance and other restrictive practices, competition litigation (including private damages), competition compliance in companies’ day-to-day activity, merger control, state aid and general EU law matters.
She has a Law Degree (Maitrise en Droit, Droit Européen) from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Collège Juridique Franco-Roumain d’Etudes Européennes. She also holds a Master Degree in International and European Business Law from the same institution.
Anca also attended specialized courses - Summer Course on European Antitrust Law (ERA - Academy of European Law, Trier) and Summer School on EU Competition Law and Competition Policy & High Tech Markets (College of Europe, Brugge).

Alexandru Aman, Counsel, Corporate/M&A and Public Procurement and PPP Practices
Alexandru has over 10 years of professional experience in the legal field.
He focuses his practice on public procurement and defense procurement, corporate and commercial law, and telecommunications and media.
He assists clients in relation to their participation in public procurement procedures, from bid preparation to claims against the procedure results, drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and corporate contracts, telecommunications and media aspects, energy law (in particular natural gas related projects) and military procurement and offset related matters.
Alexandru has a Law Degree (Maitrise en Droit, Droit Européen) from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Collège Juridique Franco-Roumain d’Etudes Européennes. He also holds a Master Degree in International and European Business Law from the same institution.

Cristian Dranca, Counsel, Corporate/M&A and Public Procurement and PPP
Cristian has over 13 years of professional experience in the legal field.
He focuses his practice on public procurement matters, corporate/M&A and commercial law.
In the public procurement field, Cristian advises clients in relation to their participation in public procurement procedures, including in the national defence sector, as well as in challenges before the National Council for Solving Public Procurement Complaints and the competent courts.
Cristian also specializes in private-sector corporate acquisitions, corporate and operational restructuring projects, cross-border transactions, domestic and international joint ventures and similar partnerships, as well as commercial contracts.

Mădălina Pancă, Counsel, Corporate/M&A Practice
Mădălina has over 14 years of professional experience, specialising in corporate and commercial law, domestic/cross-border M&A, insurance and private pensions matters, health and pharma aspects.
She is highly experienced in advising on matters related to commercial and corporate law, private sector acquisition transactions, including by participating in due diligence activities and in drafting, negotiating and implementing various types of agreements.
She has also assisted clients active in the insurance field with a diverse range of regulatory matters, implementation of various products, as well as in M&A and business transfer projects.

Mirela Preda, Counsel, Corporate/M&A and Energy
Mirela has over 15 years of professional experience in corporate and commercial law, as well as in the energy and natural resources field.
Her field of expertise covers domestic and cross-border mergers & acquisitions, due diligence processes, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures and minority investments, drafting, negotiating and implementing a vast array of contracts.
She also specialises in energy law, renewable energy projects, oil and mineral resources industry matters, investments in conventional and renewable energy projects, having assisted along the years major clients active in the energy and natural resources sector in either regulatory or transactional matters. In the last years, Mirela has provided assistance mostly in offshore oil and gas projects.

Delia Băroianu, Managing Associate, NNDKP Timișoara Office
Delia has over 19 years of professional experience.
She specializes in the area of general commercial law, having particular expertise in employment law, and provides both day-to-day legal support, as well as legal assistance and representation in court.
She assists local and foreign companies in relation to various matters concerning individual employment relations, including restructuring processes, disciplinary investigation procedures and dismissal procedures, in sensitive cases, as well as in relation to collective bargaining agreements and drafting and implementing internal regulations and policies.
Additionally, Delia represents clients in disputes involving contractual issues and provides assistance in the revision of contracts and in due diligence projects.
Delia holds a Master Degree in Business Law from Timisoara West University Law School.

Florina Firaru, Managing Associate, Intellectual Property
Florina has over 15 years of professional experience in the intellectual property field.
Her area of expertise covers intellectual property matters, with specific focus on trademark rights, patent rights and utility models, design rights, copyright and related rights and domain names, in all stages and proceedings, from filing through to maintenance and enforcement, for both national and international clients. Her expertise also includes unfair competition, consumer protection, advertising, and e-commerce matters.
She is an authorised Trademark, Design and Patent Attorney.

Raluca Gabor, Managing Associate, Corporate/M&A and Energy
Raluca has over eight years of professional experience in the legal field.
She specialises in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, as well as in consumers’ protection and e-commerce matters.

Alexandra has over 12 years of professional experience in fiscal law.

Dariana Istrate, Senior Associate, Intellectual Property
Dariana is a lawyer with more than seven years of professional experience.
She is specialized in providing consultancy on intellectual property matters, among which trademarks, industrial designs, copyright and related rights, domain names, as well as counterfeiting and IP transactions.
She also has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating IP agreements, such as software and trademark license agreements, assignment agreements, in managing IP rights, as well in due diligence processes involving IP rights.
Additionally, during her career, Dariana has advised clients active in a wide range of industries (such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, fashion and retail), regarding consumer protection aspects, advertising.

Claudia Lazăr, Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A
Claudia has ten years of professional experience in corporate and commercial law.
She focuses her practice on complex corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, commercial contracts, and corporate governance matters, having been involved in major corporate/M&A projects on the Romanian market.
During her career, she has been advising leading international companies active in a wide range of industries in relation to corporate projects, including greenfield and brownfield investments in Romania and global restructuring processes.
She has also been involved in domestic and multi-jurisdictional projects in the automotive, logistics, agri-business, food and technology sectors.
Also, she assists clients in various capital markets projects, such as listings and issuance of bonds

Florentin Nanu, Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution
Florentin has over six years of professional experience in the dispute resolution field.
His expertise covers tax litigation, civil and commercial litigation, labour disputes, creditors’ rights, debt recovery and enforcement and insolvency proceedings.
Florentin holds a Master Degree in Fiscal Law from the University of Bucharest Law School. Additionally, he is currently a PhD candidate in Fiscal Law, at the aforementioned institution. Starting with 2018, he has been an assistant professor at the University of Bucharest Law School.
Florentin is part of NNDKP’s Center of Excellence in Fiscal Disputes (NNDKP CELF) that provides integrated services to clients from the initial stage of a fiscal dispute through to resolution by the competent Romanian courts.

Flavia Petcu, Senior Associate, Real Estate
Flavia has four years of professional experience in the real estate and construction field.
Her expertise covers mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures in the real estate field, due diligence on major real estate projects, general corporate matters in the real estate industry, drafting, structuring, and negotiating real estate transaction documents, as well as lease negotiation.
She also provides assistance in connection with the construction and development of real estate projects - office, residential and commercial buildings, industrial and logistic parks, or with respect to the acquisition of distressed assets including during insolvency, and town planning assessment.
