Four new lawyers joined DLA Piper’s Bucharest office

Last month, a strong cohort of practitioners who recently passed the Bar exam joined the local office of international law firm DLA Piper. Looking to further expand the office’s strong capabilities in all areas of practice, as well as to support the senior lawyers of the firm, DLA Piper has transformed mid-fall recruitments into a tradition.

Every year, some of the best law graduates and champions of the Bar exam, some of whom had previously been enrolled into DLA Piper Summer Associates program, are offered to join the law firm as junior associates.

In 2022, new joiners Roxana Pascu, Raul Maier, Miruna Mărăcine and Martha Busuiocescu were assigned to four departments, to further strengthen the sectorial support for the clients of the firm.

Former DLA Piper Summer Associate Roxana Pascu is the new addition to the Pharma Competition team and already involved in a pro bono project for refugees. During law school, she was member of the Romanian team which won 1st prize for Best Claimant’s Memorandum in the 2021 edition of Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Alumni of Babeş-Bolyai University, Raul Maier joined our Corporate department and is the only law school graduate in Cluj-Napoca relocating to Bucharest after passing the Bar exam this year. He was ranked among the first three students in the Criminal Law contest within the Law School Hexagon competition among Romanian universities.

Also a former DLA Piper Summer Associate, Miruna Mărăcine is the newest member of the Real Estate team, having passed the bar exam in 2022. She is keen in continuing her involvement in pro bono work, as she was, in the past, a volunteer for one of the leading providers of medical services.

With a solid track in volunteering programs, Martha Busuiocescu joined the Finance, Projects & Restructuring department, following her real interest in the banking sector. During law school, she was a member of the organizing team for student exchange programmes and also participated to various law Moot competitions.
