"At the government meeting, we will adopt an emergency ordinance that will reintroduce furlough and new social protection measures for employees, so as to ensure the preservation of jobs and, of course, to support of certain economic sectors. This measure will be introduced in the context of the prohibition and suspension or limitation of economic activities due to the COVID-19 epidemic. We are basically talking about granting an allowance in the amount of 75pct of the base salary corresponding to the job, but not more than 75pct of the average gross salary provided by the Law of the state social insurance budget for 2022," Nicolae Ciuca stated at the beginning of the government meeting.
The government will approve the granting of an indemnity for the persons whose employment contracts were suspended by the employer during the state of alert imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca informed on Wednesday.
