PM Orban: We will rebuild Government’s Reserve Fund

 

"There will be a rebuilding of the Government Reserve Fund, with the amount that is necessary to balance the local budgets at the end of the year. We will balance local budgets so as to secure the resources to pay for the personal assistance of people with disabilities, for operating expenses for which there were obviously no resources. In those cases where they had money, however, but spent it on other things than operating expenses like salaries and running costs, we will not allocate any money. We will only give money to those that did not have enough resources in the first place to cover for these type of expenditures. Also , but only those who, indeed, due to the reduction of revenues to the local budget, did not have resources for running costs. Also, where, after an analysis, we will find that this is the case, we will allocate balancing amounts for the co-financing of projects co-financed from European funds that risk to remain incomplete because of the inability of the local authority to provide the co-financing," Ludovic Orban said at a press conference on Tuesday.

 

The Prime Minister was asked about the requests for supplementing the budgets through the budget rectification, coming from some mayors from the country. He specified that the amount that will be allocated for balancing local budgets is between 1.2 billion and 1.5 billion lei.

 

In this context, the head of Executive specified that the Government will debate in the first reading at Wednesday's meeting the draft emergency ordinance regarding the budget rectification.
